Landon Clayton King founded The L.C. King Manufacturing Company in 1913. King was an avid bird hunter and he raised and trained champion hunting dogs. Carolina Bill was King's favorite birddog, and he became the company mascot and center of the Pointer Brand logo in the mid-1920s.
96 years later, The L.C. King Manufacturing Company still operates out of its original facility and still manufactures every product in downtown Bristol, Tennessee. Pointer Brand is a staple of the local economy, employing dozens of local workers, some of whom have retired after 50 years of service.
