Tomato "Brandywine Pink" Heirloom Seeds
HISTORY: An Amish family heirloom tomato saved for many years before being 'introduced' to American gardeners in 1889 by Johnson and Stokes seed catalog. Every year this tomato wins the 'Best Tasting Tomato Contest' with good reason. The taste is full bodied, sweet and tangy . . . just right combination.
HABIT: Large indeterminate vines with "potato leaves" produce deep pink fruit with very thin skin, many weighing over 1 pound.
CULTURE: Plant seed indoors 6-8 weeks before danger of frost is past. May also be planted directly outdoors after last frost. Plant seed 1 inch apart and cover with 1/4" of fine soil, well pressed down. Place seed starting tray in a very warm place (both night and day) and cover with plastic or paper to preserve moisture until seeds sprout. Germinates in 7-14 days depending on temperature.Matures in 60 days from setting out.
