Gyorenbo Gama "Owan" Rice Bowl, Red
The Gyorenbo kiln was established in 1966 by Jiro Matsuo in the city of Tosu, located in the Saga prefecture in Japan. The kiln was moved to Tateishi-machi in 1973, and is now run by the original founder Jiro's son, Ichiro Matsuo.
Gyorenbo Gama pottery is characterized by the use of "Turkish blue" and "cinnabar red" glazes, as well as the sculptural, free-flowing, but fully functional shapes of the pieces.
