1960s "Spikes" Pants, Lemon

Levi's Spikes, originally produced in 1958, are distinguished by their bright colors -- designed to correspond with Lemon, Lime, and Orange Jell-O flavors -- and by their slim, tapered, railroad spike-inspired shape.

Levi's produced these pants for just one year before discontinuing them due to low customer interest. The brand then decided to over-dye all of the remaining, un-sold pairs in dark, conservative colors in hopes of re-selling them, causing the original, Jell-O colored pairs to become rare and sought-after collectibles.

This spring, Levi's released a batch of reproduction Spikes that are true to the original, featuring polished cotton fabric, rear flap pockets, a stitched cuff, a white Levi's "Big E" tab, and a tapered, spike-shaped fit. We'll also pack each pair with a corresponding box of Jell-O -- just as they were presented back in 1958.
