Type 133 "Flowerpot" Bias Cut Trews
- Straight, roomy work fit, cut extra long for cuffs
- #4 (15oz) duck unsanforized, unbleached selvedge cotton canvas, woven in England
- Folded and dyed in a small container, which yields subtle color variation where the fabric was creased, similar to Shibori or tie dye
- Pattern based on Scottish "trews" (precursor to trousers)
- Cut entirely on the bias (diagonal), causing the shape to stretch and soften with wear
- No side seams (each leg is cut entirely in one piece)
- Cinch back with solid, cast brass saddlery rings
- Removable brass waist button is cast in small batches using time-consuming "lost wax" method
- Large square back pockets, lined with English selvedge calico
- Front pockets angled for ease of entry; pocket mouth will soften and curve with use
- Pockets reinforced with hidden selvedge strip for durability
- Kick-pressed "Universal" copper dome rivets
- Reverse top-stitched inseam for improved wear
- Triple stitched seat seam for longer wear
- Darted seat construction
- Signature removable care label at right hip
- Each pair is accompanied by a signed letter from the designer
