Brown Leather Bi-Fold Wallet
Hand-crafted up the road from us in Greenpoint, Bklyn, this wallet is ingeniously constructed from a single piece of leather, folded and glued together. The unique pattern evolved from a deconstructed and modified 1940s design.
The extremely compact leather (less than 1mm thick) is a vegetable tanned cowhide from a very old, family-run tannery in Montebello, Italy. This leather is specially made for Maxx & Unicorn with a unique finished back side that strengthens the skin. This eliminates the need for interior lining or double-layered leather, which in addition to the folded and glued design makes the wallet extremely thin and lightweight.
The words "HANDMADE / BROOKLYN, NY" and "MAXX & UNICORN CO" are embossed using a vintage hot-stamping machine.
